SEO Case Study
Getting A Long-Term First Page Google Ranking.
In 2008, Gregg Cochlan, strategic planning consultant and the author of "Love Leadership: What the World Needs Now" had a small problem. He was about to be interviewed by the large Canadian newspaper, "The Globe and Mail" and was expecting the interview to generate interest in his book.
Unfortunately, his book's website was not showing up high-enough on Google. He asked Broadway Social if we could get his site to show up on the first page of Google – in less than three weeks.
Usually, we like to have a bit more time to do search engine optimization and help our customers achieve a first page google ranking, but we decided to take on the challenge. In addition to changing important on-page SEO factors such as keyword density and crucial meta-tags, we had to get google to come and index the site quickly.
In order to do this, we began in intensive link-building campaign, getting multiple incoming links to his website and submitting the site to social media websites such as StumbleUpon, Digg and several others. We also created a wordpress.com blog and had a prominent blogger to write about Gregg's book.
The result? Just in time for his interview, two pages from Gregg's site showed up on Google at #1 and #2. He was able to capitalize on that success and sell more books and get his ideas more deeply out into the world. That was over a year ago, and the rankings have held up.

Increasing Lead Generation and Google Rankings
Listen Technologies is a world-renowned manufacturer of assistive listening devices. Already successful through their dealers and offline channels, they were looking to further support their dealer network and capture high quality leads via the web.
The need? Listen not only needed more visitors to their website, but also needed a better process for getting prospects to fill out their lead-generation form. After doing a keyword analysis of which keywords were the most important, we engaged in a successful SEO campaign to get the site to rank highly for important keywords.
An internal analysis of the website structure also revealed that a clearer path was needed to the lead-generation form so that prospects could find the form when needed.
However, more traffic without an increase in the conversion rate wouldn't increase leads nor revenue, so we simultaneously engaged in a split-testing of Listen's lead generation page, testing key elements to see which need to be changed or eliminated in order to capture more leads.
The results? In addition to a boost in Listen's google rankings, the lead generation form began receiving more traffic and the page itself had an astounding 400% increase in conersion rate – from 1% to nearly 6%. The conversion rate later decreased but it still dramatically higher than it was.
We are currently working with Listen to devise and test an effective 1-page landing page for a specific market niche, driving traffic to the website with pay-per-click and search engine optimization.
